Frequently Asked Questions

Why should my company participate in the Wage & Benefits Survey?

Participating in the Wage & Benefits Survey is the only way to gain access to the survey data, an invaluable source of intelligence and insight that can help you ensure your business is competitive in your marketplace. In many ways, the Wage & Benefits Survey data can be your “secret weapon” in hiring and retaining the workforce you need.

To make this data particularly useful, it is:

  • Specific to the Graphic Communications industry
  • Continuously updated
  • Available by region (California, Northwest states, Southwest states)
  • Downloadable in Excel or csv format, to enable you to manipulate the data to suit your specific needs
How much time will it take to fill out the survey?

This depends entirely on the size of your company. We estimate this will range from 20 minutes to an hour or so, assuming you have ready access to your current data.

This is a small investment in time that will reap a huge reward in terms of the value of the data you will be able to access!

Who is eligible to participate in the Wage & Benefits Survey?

The survey is open to all PIA members in good standing that are not suppliers or vendors.

Who is eligible to receive the survey data?

The data is available for free to all PIA members in good standing who properly complete the survey.

Can I buy the data without participating in the survey?

No. There is no option to purchase the data.

Do I need to register an account in order to participate in the survey?

Yes. You must register at www.wbsurvey.org. Both the survey itself and the survey data are available on this site.

How do I register if my company has multiple locations or divisions?

Register your corporate account, with your corporate business address. Once you have created an account you’ll be able to add “divisions.” You can then enter each location or division as a “division.” Only enter data for the locations or divisions that are in the graphic communications field.

Do I have to answer all of the questions?

We encourage all participants to answer all questions that are relevant to their business, as this will provide more accurate and relevant reporting for everyone. That said, in order to receive access to the survey data, you must meet minimum data entry thresholds based on your company size.

When completing the survey, what time period should I be looking at?

Data entry represents a snapshot in time as of the data entry date. What are your wages and policies today?
